Bean counters Ball

Charity Partners

The purpose of the Bean Counters Ball has always been to support and raise funds for our charity partners, and to assist youth and education in the Hunter region.

Since 2011, the Bean Counters Ball has raised over $250,000 for Samaritans and Hunter TAFE Foundation.

The money provides safe accommodation for adolescents living in the Samaritans Youth Accommodation in Newcastle and Maitland. It also goes towards providing scholarships for students studying Accounting or Finance at Hunter TAFE.

Samaritans

Samaritans is the social services agency of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle. Established in 1984, Samaritans operates over 100 support services throughout the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Mid-North Coast regions.

As part of their work, Samaritans supports people in their early years of life through work in foster care, family support and preservation, and in Early Learning Centres.

They enrich and empower people’s lives through disability support and mental health programs. And when people are in crisis due to experiences such as domestic violence and homelessness, Samaritans is there.

Through the Bean Counters Ball, we assist with raising funds for Samaritans Youth Accommodation in Newcastle and Maitland.

Hunter TAFE Foundation

Established in 2000, Hunter TAFE Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working with business, education, and community leaders to support education and training at TAFE NSW in the Hunter and Central Coast region.

The Hunter TAFE Foundation provides financial support to TAFE NSW students in the Hunter and Central Coast who are experiencing either personal or financial hardship, assisting them in completing their studies.

A portion of the funds raised at the Bean Counters Ball goes towards funding both the Bean Counters Encouragement Scholarship and the Bean Counters Achievement Award as part of the Hunter TAFE Foundation.

The scholarships offer support and encouragement to promising students currently enrolled at TAFE NSW campus in the Central Coast or Hunter regions in either of the following courses:

Since the scholarships were introduced, we’ve helped dozens of students on their Accounting and Commerce journeys. We hope to continue to do so for many years to come through the Hunter TAFE Foundation.
